Congratulations to Niles North’s Max Royzen, the 2017 Illinois State Diving Champ!

Boys’ swimming had a great season and showing at state. The 200 freestyle relay team of Ethan Lee, Anthony Zagarov, Jared Brown, and Mitchell Mages finished fourth. Mages also finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke.

Girls Bowling – Senior Zaria Syfu and freshman Gabriela Potempa had outstanding performances at the IHSA Girls’ Bowling State Regional at Habetler Bowl in Chicago. Both finished in the top 10 earning qualifying spots at the State Sectional Tournament. Zaria has the honor of being the first female bowler to qualify to the IHSA State Final during the 2015-2016 season and being recognized as a CSL All-Conference Player and a member of the CSL Sportsmanship Team for the 2016-2017 season.

Congratulations to Niles North’s Gina Loy for her career high 32 points v. Highland Park. Lauren D’Souza tossed in an additional 17 to make sure the outcome was never in doubt.

Niles North alumnus Koby Shaykin swapped his baseball gear for something more aquatic. He now competes on the Western Michigan Waterski and Wakeboard team.
